Dear NRDC Action Fund Supporter,
Our democracy depends on ordinary people who make sure every election runs smoothly and everyone's vote is counted. And this year, that's more important than ever: We need all hands on deck to elect Vice President Harris and climate champions up and down the ballot.
Today is National Poll Worker Recruitment Day — will you consider becoming a poll worker this year?
I was horrified by Donald Trump’s attempts to undermine public confidence in the voting process as part of his cynical strategy to get re-elected when I was a poll worker back in 2020 in my home state of Indiana.
But we know that what he and his allies were really trying to do is disenfranchise voters, especially in communities of color and in low-income communities — and there’s no reason to think they won’t try to scare voters away from the polls on Election Day once again. We can’t let that happen.
As a poll worker, I’ve helped make sure every vote is counted. And some races are decided by a miniscule number of votes. For example, President Biden's margin of victory in 2020 in Georgia was just 0.2%.
Will you join me in signing up to be a poll worker on Election Day?
What I saw when I worked the polls in 2020 was eye-opening. People from all walks of life doing their civic duty, making their voices heard by casting their ballots — a right that was denied to many of their parents and grandparents.
Working the polls protects our freedoms. We know Trump and his MAGA extremists could do everything within their power to try to overthrow another election.
I’m proud to be working the polls again on November 5 — for my community, for my country, and for our democracy. Join me by helping to staff your polling place today >>
Plus, it beats doomscrolling all Election Day.
Sincerely,
Reagan Ringvelski

P.S. If you can’t work the polls on Election Day, that’s okay! Sign up to text voters in our highest priority states.
