Vice President and presumptive Democratic nominee Kamala Harris will announce her running mate any day now—and nearly all of the popular contenders are Vote Pro-Choice endorsed leaders!
We’re proud to have endorsed these rising stars, including:

MN Gov. Tim Walz, who codified abortion rights, outlawed “conversion therapy,” and protected gender-affirming care in Minnesota
-
MI Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, who signed a budget providing free meals to all public school students in Michigan, expanded access to low or no-cost childcare, and signed the Reproductive Health Act to decriminalize abortion and ensure access to reproductive healthcare
- KY Gov. Andy Beshear, who restored voting rights through executive order, vetoed a bill creating new restrictions for transgender youth, and expanded access to healthcare for more than 400K additional people in Kentucky
These are the types of pro-choice champions that our programs support, building governing power for reproductive freedom at the state and local levels.
We’re also proud to meet candidates at the starting line, often supporting first-time candidates and contenders for local office. So many of our finest leaders started in local or state politics, including:

Sec. Pete Buttigieg, who famously began his political career as Mayor of South Bend, Indiana

NC Gov. Roy Cooper, who first served in the North Carolina state legislature before becoming president of the state senate and eventually North Carolina Attorney General

PA Gov. Josh Shapiro, who served both in the Pennsylvania legislature as well as on the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners before winning his race for Pennsylvania Attorney General
Pro-choice champions are on the frontlines of the fight for reproductive freedom right now in city halls and state houses across the country, and we’re supporting their campaigns.
Of course, Vice President Kamala Harris herself also started her political life in local and then state-level politics, and we’re proud to say that she’s a previously-endorsed Vote Pro-Choice champion too.
