Last week:

We launched a major new campaign for a constitutional amendment to overturn the
Supreme Court’s profoundly misguided ruling in Donald Trump’s immunity case,
which in effect gives U.S. presidents sweeping power to break the law with
impunity.

This week:

President Biden AND Vice President Kamala Harris called for substantive reform
at the Supreme Court, including an amendment.

Is winning a constitutional amendment an ambitious undertaking?

Yes.

It’s not supposed to be easy.

It won’t be easy.

And it may take many years.

But because of the way the Supreme Court ruled in Trump’s immunity case,
changing the Constitution is the most surefire way to overturn the ruling.

If it won’t be easy, if it could take a long time, that is all the more reason
to start fighting for it right now.

Right.

Now.

Step One is getting as many members of Congress as possible to support the
amendment.

You’re going to hear from us about this a lot. And Congress needs to hear from
the American people again and again, for as long as it takes. So please take
action today even if you might have taken action before.

To Every Member of Congress: [[link removed]]

We urge you to support a constitutional amendment that would overturn the
Supreme Court’s disastrous ruling in Donald Trump’s immunity case. If you are
already a co-sponsor, please do whatever you can to influence your colleagues to
support the amendment so that we can reestablish the longstanding, fundamental
principle that no one — not even the president of the United States — is above
the law. [[link removed]]
