ADL Marks 30 Years Since the AMIA Bombing |
This month, an ADL delegation led by Jonathan Greenblatt and Ben Sax arrived in Argentina to join the J7 Task Force Against Antisemitism and other global Jewish leaders in commemorating the 30th anniversary of the
AMIA Jewish Community Center bombing. This devastating suicide attack, carried out in Buenos Aires by Hezbollah, a terrorist proxy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, was the largest assault on Jews since the Holocaust until October 7. It remains the deadliest terrorist attack in Argentina's history, claiming 85 lives and injuring over 300 people.
Amid a global crisis of insecurity and rising antisemitism, ADL and partners held dozens of meetings with Argentinian authorities, community leaders, families of AMIA and October 7 victims and hostages, and much more. Additionally, ADL led various working groups and discussions on global antisemitism with the J7 Task Force Against Antisemitism, including a press conference led by ADL and hosted by our partners at DAIA warning of a surge in antisemitism across all seven countries post October 7
. Additionally, responding to requests from numerous Jewish communities in Latin America, ADL launched its first-ever Words to Action facilitator training workshop in Buenos Aires. This marks a crucial first step in combating antisemitism together through education in the region.

Iranian Regime’s HispanTV Promotes Antisemitism to Hispanic Audiences |
Iran continues to be the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism and antisemitism. A new ADL report provides insights into HispanTV, a Spanish-language media outlet with extensive reach in Latin America that was founded by the Islamic Republic of Iran’s state-controlled media corporation. The broadcaster promotes the Iranian regime’s antisemitic views, Holocaust revisionism, anti-Israel prejudice and incitement. Iran seeks to exert influence in the region, glorify Palestinian terrorism, claim any evidence of Hamas atrocities is propaganda fabricated by Jewish-controlled global media and calling for Israel's
destruction.
