Last week, Earth reached its highest temperature two days in a row, setting the course for the hottest summer on record... again. This extreme heat is exacerbating devastating wildfires and increasing the number of heat deaths, the leading weather-related cause of death in the U.S. — more than hurricanes, floods and tornadoes combined.
