*Now is the time to make sure your firearm is ready for hunting season!*
Hunting season is fast approaching. Whether you are planning on hunting moose, bear or deer, you should make sure your rifle is sighted in and ready for you and your season.
Do not wait for the last minute. Plan ahead and join us at the Summerhaven Range [ [link removed] ] in Augusta at 211 Sanford Road during our scheduled hours to sight in your rifle and have the confidence that you are ready for a successful season.?
Our Fryeburg Range is closed for facility reconstructions, but Summerhaven Ranges is still open when staffed with volunteer Range Staff Officers. Hours vary, and can be found online:?

Although we do have weekend schedule time at the Summerhaven Range, weekdays are always best to beat the crowds. Make sure to bring the firearms you are planning on using for your hunting, your ammunition, eye and ear protection, and a paper target.?

Upcoming Workshops at the Summerhaven Range
The Summerhaven Range in Augusta has summer workshops coming up to help you learn in a safe and supportive environment. Firearms safety is always top of mind under the guidance of MDIFW staff and instructors. These introductory workshops help new users gain comfort handling? firearms while improving skills and confidence.

Introduction to Basic Handguns - for Women
Friday, August 16, 2024 1:30pm ? 5pm
Joins us at this introductory workshop to learn how to use your new handgun. This workshop will cover:
* safe range procedures and etiquette
* safe firearms handling and basic knowledge of firearms
* different types of actions
* how to safely load and unload each action
* different types of ammunition
* different types of sights
* proper grip and positioning
* shooting with live rounds
This workshop is geared for adult women 18+. Advance registration is required.?
