MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin State Fair starts this week, and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is excited to announce the agency will be on-site to engage with fairgoers Aug. 1-11. This year's theme is “OutWiGo” with a focus on outdoor recreation across the state.
Fairgoers can meet with DNR experts at State Fair to learn about Wisconsin’s world-class fishing, wildlife, state parks and outdoor recreation.
“We truly have something special in Wisconsin,” said DNR Deputy Secretary Steven Little. “Getting outdoors is great for the mind and body. Be sure to stop by during the fair and learn more about the wonderful outdoor offerings Wisconsin has in store for all to enjoy.”
With 50 state parks, 15 state forests, 44 state trails, several state recreation areas, wild rivers and flowages to discover, Wisconsin offers countless opportunities to Find Your Adventure.
The DNR display is in the north building at Exploratory Park, located on the south side of Main Street across from the Original Cream Puff Pavilion.
Test your Wisconsin State Park knowledge with trivia and match games, ask the experts about the unique outdoor recreation activities offered in Wisconsin, learn about endangered resources, identify different animal tracks and get an up-close view of some of Wisconsin’s most popular fish.
