Dear Supporter,

As salaamu ‘Alaikum and Ramadan Mubarak.

I pray that you and your families are safe and healthy during these difficult and uncertain times. Despite this year’s unique challenges, we firmly believe that Ramadan is a month of hope. As Muslims, we also believe that Ramadan is a month of action and giving as exemplified by our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). 

Today, I write to you because of the devastating impact this novel coronavirus has had on AMP’s ability to fundraise for our Palestine work. Although we are up against the might of the Israel lobby with millions of dollars at its disposal, we are proud to have made significant gains in the last few years with far less. 

The dynamics here in the U.S. are shifting in our favor and we need to make sure that we seize the moment. We were poised to achieve more this year and can’t allow this latest crisis to shake our commitment and set us back years on what we have worked so hard to accomplish.

As Palestine advocates, we understand that occupation and apartheid do not pause for an international crisis. On the contrary, Israel’s illegal occupation and siege have made Palestinians even more vulnerable given the longstanding health care inequalities they suffer.

Our work is made possible only through generous donations from Muslim communities across the country which are committed to justice and have always delivered to ensure the Palestinian cause has a strong voice and a prominent organization to advocate for it. 

Since oppressors do not cease their oppression during a pandemic, neither will we cease our efforts to achieve justice. The people of Palestine refuse to be defeated by a brutal occupation, and we will not be defeated by a virus. Our faith and resilience will outlast the occupation and the coronavirus. 

However, we can't do this without you standing with us as you always have. We understand the severity of the situation, but we count on your faith and trust in Allah, and on your commitment to Palestine.

I believe these critical months ahead will be a test for us all—as individuals, as Muslims, and as supporters of human rights in Palestine. Our cause is blessed, and the work to serve the land of the first Qibla, the second mosque, and the third sanctuary in Islam--the Al-Aqsa Mosque--is blessed as well. 

During this difficult period, can we count on you to make a generous contribution? May Allah accept your fasting, worship, and charity, and reward you exponentially during this holy month of Ramadan.
