Hi, friend, it's Coach Steve Kerr.

I'm lucky enough that my work gives me the opportunity to travel, and lately, you might have seen that I've been spending some time in Paris. This trip abroad has allowed me to meet people from all over the globe and hear their stories of triumph and hardship. And it's really got me thinking about a uniquely American problem: gun violence.

But it doesn't have to be this way. We can — and we must — put an end to the gun violence epidemic in America. If you're with me, please chip in $5 to help Brady continue to fight for a future free from gun violence.

People from other countries don't have the same fears we do. When they go to movie theaters, to concerts, to bars, when they send their kids to school, they don't have to think about the possibility of a mass shooting because mass shootings are so much rarer than they are here.

When others hear about American gun violence, they are baffled and horrified. They don't understand why we have so many weapons of war in our communities — and truth be told, neither do I.

Americans are 22 times more likely to die from gun violence than Europeans. But we don't have to accept these numbers, friend.

It's no mystery why there are fewer gun deaths and fewer mass shootings abroad than in the United States. There are simple, common-sense legislative solutions our leaders could enact to put an end to the violence.

Our leaders are uniquely opposed to taking action to prevent gun violence because the gun lobby in this country is like no other. Lobbying groups like the NRA spend countless dollars trying to prevent our leaders from passing the laws we KNOW work because we have seen them work in France, Germany, Italy, and other countries around the world.

Change is possible, but it's going to take a massive grassroots movement to defeat the gun lobby and force Congress to take action. If you're ready to be part of the movement, will you chip in $5 to fund Brady's work to end the gun violence epidemic in America?
