Manning Introduces Legislation to Honor the Late Corporal Matthew A.  Wyatt

After graduating from high school, Corporal Matthew A. Wyatt joined the Marine Corps, where he was based at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina before deploying to Iraq. At just 21 years old, he gave his life to stop an enemy attack on his base.

Congresswoman Manning offered remarks on the House Floor in support of legislation to rename the United States Post Office in Corporal Wyatt's hometown of Millstadt, Illinois, in his honor. Corporal Wyatt's stepmother, Lauren Wyatt, works as a Constituent Services Liaison in Congresswoman Manning's Greensboro office.

"While no act of gratitude will ever be enough to fill the void left by Corporal Wyatt's absence, I hope this small but meaningful gesture will comfort his loved ones and remind them that his sacrifice will not be forgotten," said Congresswoman Kathy Manning

Manning Calls for the Passage of Legislation to Protect the Right to IVF

Image

Congresswoman Manning joined Members of Congress at a press conference in support of a discharge petition that could force the Republican-controlled House to hold a vote on legislation to codify the right to IVF nationwide.

IVF has been under attack since the Alabama Supreme Court ruling in February 2024 classified embryos as people. This extreme ruling could embolden judges and legislators in other states - including North Carolina - to enact similar policies.

Congresswoman Manning, Policy Co-Chair of the Democratic Women's Caucus and member of the Pro-Choice Caucus, was proud to join this press conference to call on House Republicans to act to protect the rights of women to make their own reproductive health decisions.
