Congress is in recess for the month of August — but what does that mean?

It isn’t a vacation. Members of Congress use this time to visit their home districts and states, hold events to speak directly with their constituents, and work from their local offices. It’s the perfect time to remind those that represent us that strengthening 24/7 access to care is critical. 

You can reach out to your lawmaker during the August recess in three key ways: 

Share Your Local Hospital Story: When you submit your story on our Story Center, our team will work to make sure it’s seen by YOUR Member of Congress!
Attend an In-Person Event: Members of Congress often promote in-district events through their congressional websites and social media. Find one in your area! 
Send a Letter: Let them know which legislative priorities they should vote for when Congress is back in session this Fall. Click the link below to get started!
