Hello --
We're facing a global pandemic.
And it doesn't take a doctor or an expert to understand that Donald Trump and his allies, like Dan Sullivan, are simply not capable of properly handling it.
It's more evident than ever that our health care system is broken.
As a doctor, I've seen first hand the struggles regular Alaskans face in accessing medical care. It's the reason why I went back to school to get a masters degree in public health and why I decided to run for the U.S. Senate.
It's never mattered more to have leaders in government who believe in science, who understand health care, and who can bring the urgent reform we so desperately need.
I'll bring a prescription for change to Washington, D.C. that delivers results -- but I need your help to get there. Please chip in $3 or whatever you can. It would mean so much.
We cannot fight a pandemic effectively unless free testing is available for all, including the uninsured.
We cannot slow the spread of an outbreak when workers are forced to choose between staying home and the paycheck they need to support their families.
We cannot care for the sick without access to affordable health care.
But the dysfunction in our medical system goes much deeper than this crisis.
In Alaska, we pay more for health care than any other state in the country -- and America as a whole spends more than any other nation with much less to show for it.
When I'm in the U.S. Senate, I'll use my knowledge and experience every day to fix this broken system so no American has to fear going bankrupt because they get sick.
I know that America is resilient, and we will get through this, but this crisis is a stark illustration of how we desperately need a different kind of leadership in Washington.
With your help, I'll take on the failed status quo. Please chip in $3 or more and help send a message to our incompetent leadership in Washington, D.C -- change that delivers results is coming.
Thank you,
Dr. Al Gross
