John, it’s Marek Barnette, Brad Lander’s favorite son.

I could go on and on about why my Dad is one of the best people I know. He is hard working and knows his stuff. My whole life, he’s demonstrated to me and my sister Rosa what it means to be a caring neighbor and a good person (and of course, sharing his love of sports, especially baseball and the New York Liberty).

Brad Lander and Marek Barnette Very excited to remake this (Hey Brian)

But today, I want to talk about New York City. If you’re like me, you love this place. The people, the food, the culture. You can’t imagine living anywhere else.

Look, I think a lot of New Yorkers are worried right now. Library hours are getting cut. The subway is in urgent need of repair. It’s getting harder and harder for people to find affordable housing (trust me, I just moved recently).

I mean just what are we doing?

The 2025 election will be the second time in my life that I vote for a new Mayor, and this time we need really strong leadership. A guy who LOVES our City and has the experience and track record to back it up.

You know how Jalen Brunson always passes to his teammates, and took a pay cut in his 2025 contract so the Knicks could add to their roster and take down the Celtics next year? Like, give him the Keys to the City and hang his jersey.

Brunson puts the greater good of the team and the future of New York first. That’s why he’s a legend. Brad Lander puts the future of New York first, too – and that’s why we gotta throw our support behind him for mayor.

So, will you please support my Dad’s campaign with a contribution of $10 or another amount today? Another cool thing about NYC is that grassroots campaign contributions from New York City residents are matched 8:1 up to $250.

And if you can donate today, please use this link. I’m trying to prove that I can raise more money than Rosa: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/bsl-em-launch24/refcode=marek.

Thanks,

Marek Barnette

P.S. I’m aware there are some people out there trying to make “Dad Lander” a thing. Please do not encourage him. Instead, you could totally support him by pitching in a few bucks to the campaign instead.
