The Kahlert Foundation, a Maryland based family foundation, has pledged to match every donation we receive by August 16 — up to a total of $160,000 — to support Alzheimer's disease research and programs and outreach initiatives at their local chapter, if we can raise the same amount. Your gift will go towards advancing research and providing care and support resources.
A diagnosis of Alzheimer's or another dementia motivates many people to find ways to live a healthier life. We've identified steps people can take to potentially improve their health and enhance their well-being while living with dementia.
For example, research suggests that mild-to-moderate physical activity may help delay or slow a decline in thinking skills, reduce stress, possibly improve symptoms of depression and may even reduce the risk of falls. An active lifestyle may also preserve a sense of independence and identity. Moving more can be as simple as taking a brisk walk with a loved one, taking part in a group aerobics class or stretching.
We need your support now to fund this kind of outreach as well as our other initiatives. And with our $160,000 2X Matching Gift Challenge, every dollar can go twice as far, up to $160,000, to expand education programs, accelerate research and provide much-needed care and support services. Will you answer the call while you can double your impact today?
Thank you for your support and for all you do for this fight. Together, we can make an even greater impact and further our mission to lead the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia — by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support.
Sincerely,
Michael Reich
