Friend,

This week, we asked folks to take action on our Youth Demands for COVID-19 Relief effort. This effort is important to us because it shows the dire need for economic justice for young people. Young people have been kicked out of their homes, still owe school fees and private student loans, worry about incarcerated family members, have lost their jobs but still owe rent — and many don’t qualify for stimulus checks or unemployment!

Please use this simple form to send a letter to Congress today! It’ll only take a minute.

In our Young People’s Reproductive Justice Policy Agenda (the Policy Agenda), we acknowledge Economic Justice as one of our six major policy sections to drastically change the lives of young people. We’re calling for measures that make it easier for all people to live ALL the time, not just in a pandemic. Young people deserve economic justice policies that help them to grow and thrive.

We know people are continuously forced into poverty because of systemic inequity and policies that uphold inequity, racism, and patriarchy. We are fighting for a just world. A world with policies that support every community member to meet their human needs and ensure that everyone has equal access to employment, livable wages, and healthcare.

For updates on policy happenings across our states and federally, please join me Monday, April 27th, at 4pm EDT on URGE’s Instagram. Until then, please stay safe and do what you can to take care of others by practicing social distancing.

In Solidarity,
