Tonight marks our July end-of-month fundraising deadline, and we’re still coming up a bit short of our online fundraising goal. At a time when National Republicans have begun pumping dark money to my opponent’s campaign, we have to stay on track.

There’s a reason the GOP is so worried about IL-17. Despite their best interests and millions of dollars, our grassroots community outlasted them in 2022, and this year their handpicked challenger Joe McGraw’s extreme, anti-choice positions are completely out of touch with our district.

Put simply, I’ve built trust with our communities. When you work as a local meteorologist for twenty years, you become intimately familiar with the problems a community faces. In Congress, I’ve used that trust to advocate on important issues from protecting jobs in our district to the impacts of climate change.
