DEAR FRIENDS,

This past weekend we were in DeKalb County of Illinois for a steer tailing event. Like other steer tailing events, this was one long exhibition of cruelty unworthy of any civilized society.

Animals were hit so violently in their genitals, rib cages and heads that the beating rod broke. Steers were run over and over again to the point of exhaustion. Several animals were injured. Steers were prodded relentlessly. Once they were exhausted the shocking began.

At one point a particularly disgusting individual took it upon himself to painfully bend and twist the steers tails and then BITE THEM!

What a sick, twisted human being.

On top of the steers being injured and exhausted, one rider and his horse went down. The rider was slammed face-first into the ground with his horse then landing and rolling across him. The horse appeared to be okay, but the rider ended up needing to get airlifted to the hospital due to his serious injuries.

We take no joy in a rider getting injured. Our goal is for no one, human or animal to be injured. We will soon find out if the DeKalb County State’s Attorney plans to do anything about the abuse.
