Dear John,
Recent News
With all that is happening in our country, it is easy to focus on the negative. When you are told there is no hope for our country, know that there is. When you are told that we can't do something, know that we can. We can do anything we set our minds to. We are the United States of America.
I encourage everyone not to lose sight of the miracle that is the United States. To take a moment and look at the positive developments in our communities. For instance, this month, my office successfully advocated for the inclusion of provisions in the Water Resources Development Act that highlight the potential of Lake Aquilla. This will enable the United States Army Corps of Engineers to explore ways to enhance our water infrastructure.
Look around your community, and you'll see new businesses emerging, people performing acts of service, and individuals uniting around common goals for our nation's improvement. As we move into a season where the media will try and paint a pessimistic picture of a country, do not lose faith in all the great things our nation has accomplished and what we will accomplish together.

District Update
While it was a busy month in Washington, D.C., we also had a great number of events going on in the district! We kicked off the month in Dallas, VA, celebrating our great country and those who have served it! We then got to celebrate the opening of some great businesses. I then teamed up with State Rep. David Cook at the Mansfield Chamber to give a brief update on everything we have accomplished in Washington.
Great day with our Dallas Veterans!
The grand opening of Seven Brew in Palestine!
The Ribbon Cutting for a new Edward Jones location in Red Oak.
Grand opening of New Moon Boarding in Jacksonville!
Thank you, Lori Williams from the Mansfield Chamber of Commerce, for putting on a great event!
Telephone Town Hall
I want to extend my thanks to the 6,800 individuals who joined my last telephone town hall on July 23rd and submitted over 100 questions. Hosting these events brings me great joy, as they provide a valuable opportunity to engage constructively and collaboratively with people from across the district. In the coming weeks, my staff and I will be reaching out to address all your questions. For those who couldn't join this time, I hope you'll participate in the next one!
