Trump tells supporters they ‘won’t have to vote’ again if he wins, reinforcing threat to democracy fears

In other words, Trump is vowing to end democracy.

The GOP’s response to all of this? He was just ‘making a joke!’

Ridiculous. 

These are the same Republicans who told us that Trump would accept the 2020 elections results. He didn’t. 

These are the same Republicans who assured us that Trump would uphold the rule of law. He didn’t. 

These are the same Republicans who promised to put country over party. They haven’t. 

Let us be clear: Trump is no different now than he was in 2016 or 2020. He’s the same dangerous guy with the same grievances and authoritarian streak. 

No matter what happens in November, it’s clear our democracy is facing unprecedented risk – and Democratic Secretaries of State are our best line of defense against MAGA attempts to subvert the rule of law.
