The United States Postal Service is like our Social Security system. It’s simple, universal, efficient, and effective. And like Social Security, Wall Street has been scheming for decades to privatize it and start profiting from the public good, making the service more expensive and worse.

Before Donald Trump left office in disgrace, he had stacked the USPS Board of Governors with privatizers, and appointed a MAGA loyalist as Postmaster General, with a plan to delay the mail ahead of the largest-ever mail voting election. Since President Biden took office, he has painstakingly replaced Trump’s privatizers with pro-postal commissioners, and now is our chance to finally fire Postmaster General Louis DeJoy.

President Kamala Harris should never have to deal with a privatizing saboteur like DeJoy.

We must act now, because for the first time, this fight has bipartisan momentum. Louis DeJoy’s reign of terror could truly come to an end―if we keep applying pressure.

Here’s what happened to finally turn Republicans against DeJoy:

DeJoy has been operationalizing what he calls a “10 year plan” to raise prices and slow down the mail, opening the door for private corporations to replace the USPS. As part of that, he planned to eliminate mail sorting facilities entirely in some states―slowing down medical deliveries, bill payments, and more.

This provoked a grassroots revolt that led to 13 Republican Senators threatening DeJoy. He’s backed off, thanks to our public pressure―now is the time to keep pushing and wipe out his 10 year plan!

And with millions of Americans planning to vote by mail this November, firing DeJoy can’t come soon enough!
