Dear Friend,
By a 91-3 vote, the United States Senate overwhelmingly passed the Kids Online Safety and Privacy Act (KOSPA) yesterday … the first significant legislation to protect kids online that has passed either chamber of Congress since 1998.

We can’t thank you enough for your activism on this issue; leading into the vote, almost 5,000 of you contacted your Senators to urge a yes vote … and that’s on top of nearly 15,000 calls and letters you made over the past few weeks to get – and keep – this bill moving.
Now the focus turns to the House of Representatives to get the bill passed there, and over the finish line into law. The House is currently on recess until just after Labor Day, but – based on the overwhelming and bipartisan support for the bill in the Senate – we believe there’s a real window of opportunity for passage this year.
But we need your help to make that happen! Can you donate to Accountable Tech today to fuel our campaign to get this historic bill passed into law before the year is out?
YES, I'LL CHIP IN NOW
This historic legislation would be the most significant online protection for kids in decades. With an epidemic of cyberbullying, sexual exploitation, eating disorders, and other dangers fueled by Big Tech's algorithms and manipulative design, this bill is our best shot at creating a safer online environment for young people.
And the overwhelming bipartisan passage of this legislation in the Senate marks a huge step towards holding Big Tech accountable. The bill finally ensures that young people and their parents will no longer be solely responsible for their own safety online, and platforms like YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and Snapchat would now be legally required to prioritize young people’s privacy and safety.
This legislation will protect our kids’ privacy, prevent harm, and save actual lives. Chip in today to support our efforts to get it passed in the House of Representatives.
Thank you for anything you’re able to donate today, and for everything you’ve done to get us all to this historic moment. Let’s keep the momentum going and get this bill over the finish line.
