How much personal protective gear could $60,000 - $100,000 buy for health care workers who need it to bravely fight the COVID-19 crisis on the frontlines? How many test kits could be bought?

Because those numbers are just a starting point for how much Donald Trump’s latest political stunt is going to cost the American people — dispatching The Blue Angels and The Thunderbirds — a bill taxpayers will foot if he goes through with it. The final amount will likely be much more— potentially in the millions — depending on how many displays are put on.

Millions of Americans are out of work and battling a once in a lifetime global pandemic and economic recession. And Donald Trump wants to pull a political stunt with our military that could easily add up to millions of wasted dollars and help no one except his re-election campaign

This is his military parade all over again. This is firing Lt. Colonel Vindman all over again. This is disrespecting gold star families all over again. This is dismissing Captain Brett Crozier all over again.

But here’s the good news: every time Donald Trump has used our military to distract from his failure of leadership, this team has been there, front and center, to hold him to account. This time will be no different.

This is a critical moment. It’s getting harder and harder for Trump to hide just how badly he and his administration have failed our country over the last few months. And we already know that when his back is up against the wall, Trump will use our service-members, generals, ranking officials, veterans, and military families as political pawns in his game.
