Earlier this week, Donald Trump announced by tweet that he would temporarily suspend immigration into the United States.
He's trying to use the pandemic as his excuse, but make no mistake: It's a desperate and xenophobic stunt to try and distract from his administration's bungled response to stopping the spread of COVID-19.
This virus doesn't care about who you are or where you're from — it's a threat to us all. That's why, even during this pandemic, Team Julie is still safely working to remotely organize volunteers ready to flip TX-25 and to connect our most vulnerable neighbors to vital resources.
But we need to make sure our campaign has the resources to continue growing so Julie can take on Trump and his enablers like Roger Williams in November. If you can afford it, will you make a contribution of $5 to help our campaign hit an end-of-week online fundraising goal of $5,000?

Trump's order — which was short on detail when first announced — applies to those applying for permanent residence from outside the United States, not those already in the country. But it will further contribute to the fear and pain that immigrant families in Texas were experiencing before the pandemic.
There are 29,000 DACA recipients and 12,000 TPS recipients showing up for us every day as healthcare workers, providing medical support to us in our moment of greatest need.
Immigrants contribute to Texas’ and this country’s success, every single day. They are the source of our strength. It's past time to re-establish our reputation as a country that embraces our shared humanity, especially in times of crisis.
If you believe that a campaign that fights for everyone regardless of their immigration status can win in TX-25 as we do, make a contribution of any amount today. Our success relies on your support and hitting every goal we set for ourselves: [link removed]
Thank you so much,
Team Julie
