I hear the criticism that Congress is not focused on working for the people because of the gridlock instigated by the Chaos Caucus. But I can assure you that despite their efforts to uproot our democracy, my fellow Democratic colleagues and I are carefully crafting laws that address your priorities.

This year alone, we have demonstrated clarity on our values, freedoms, and protections:

1. Together, we showed that Mifepristone is a safe, effective drug used for medication abortions — and should remain legal. We can use this momentum to propel our work to fortify reproductive rights across the country.
2. We have made landmark investments in infrastructure through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Act, which brought tens of millions in funding to Northwest Washington.
3. I have requested over $42 million to invest in local infrastructure projects through the House's Community Project Funding requests system, which will help make the 2nd District more accessible and create new job opportunities.
4. Through ​​the Migratory Birds of the Americas Conservation Enhancements Act, I proved that a divided Congress can and must work together to protect the environment.
