Associate Professor / Emergency Medicine/ Critical Care Pharmacy Specialist

I became an Instructor to educate others about this important topic. As an emergency medicine pharmacist I have witnessed firsthand patients coming into the emergency department with trauma. Pharmacists are arguably one of the most accessible healthcare providers. As a trusted health care provider in the community, pharmacists can educate others and utilize STOP THE BLEED® skills if the need arises. I have successfully built in STOP THE BLEED® training into our pharmacy curriculum so that every cohort of students at Chapman University receives STOP THE BLEED® training. My colleagues and I have also conducted STOP THE BLEED® training at the California Society of Health-Systems Pharmacist conference.

Training is at the heart of the STOP THE BLEED® campaign and STOP THE BLEED® Instructors are the ones that make the heart beat! The Instructor Spotlight shines a bright light on individuals engaging their communities about STOP THE BLEED®.

Connect with the Stop the Bleed Coalition

The Coalition is a community of individuals and organizations who are passionate about the STOP THE BLEED® campaign. The Coalition’s goal is to support the growth and impact of the campaign by providing access to information and services to the growing STOP THE BLEED® community as well as financial support to the STOP THE BLEED® Project.

STOP THE BLEED® is a national campaign to encourage bystanders to become trained, equipped, and empowered to help in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives. It is a public/private partnership led by the Department of Defense and many other stakeholders, including the Stop the Bleed Coalition.
