Transformer move rescheduled for 8/7/244   City of Auburn, Maine. Government Meetings   NEWS FROM AUBURN, MAINE   TRAFFIC ALERT FOR 8/7/24 TRAFFIC ALERT: The transformer move is back on, Auburn! On Wednesday, August 7, motorists in Auburn will experience *extensive* traffic delays as a HUGE transformer moves through our city at a VERY slow rate of speed. Please seek alternate routes when possible. The transport convoy will begin at around 8:00AM on Rodman Road and make its way onto Washington Street S, Philomar Street, Washington Street N, Minot Avenue, Union Street, Center Street and onto the Veteran’s Bridge to Lewiston. Temporary road closures will take place along the route. The trek through Auburn is expected to take hours. Please expect SIGNIFICANT delays. This is an extremely large item, and the convoy will be moving at a “walking pace.” Walking spotters and bucket trucks will be on hand to lift overhead wires for clearance. NOTE: This will take place 3 more times over the next few weeks as more transformers are moved from Auburn to their destination. Enter Russell St from Vet’s Bridge and turn Left onto College Street. Continue on College St and turn left onto Merrill Road. Continue on Merrill Rd and make and turn right onto Main Street.
