KOSA passed the Senate. Let’s stop it in the House
Yesterday, the Senate passed the censorship and surveillance bill titled the “Kids Online Safety Act,” or KOSA. We've been warning against this bill for over a year, alongside Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) and LGBTQ+ advocacy organizations.
The bill's next stop is the House for final passage. The House is currently in recess; we don't know when the bill might come up for final passage. So now's as good a time as any to call your Representative and let them know: KOSA will harm kids, so vote no on this bill.
Call your Representative and tell them: Vote NO on KOSA!
We agree with President Biden: It’s time to check SCOTUS’s abuses of power
Enough is enough. From taking away the nationwide right to abortion to limiting people’s access to the ballot and blocking needed regulation, the Court has been running roughshod over all of us. It’s time to hold the MAGA-captured Supreme Court accountable.
On Monday, July 29, President Biden wrote an op-ed calling for term limits and a binding ethics code for Supreme Court justices. We support these—we called for both those changes last year, along with an expansion of the Court. We still think those three reforms are a good idea.
President Biden also called for a constitutional amendment, which he calls the No One Is Above the Law Amendment, establishing that there is no immunity for crimes a president commits while in office. Let’s do it.
In the next term, a Democratic Congress could pass these Supreme Court reforms and President Harris could sign them into law. Let’s make it happen. Check out our Vote page for ways you can get involved now so we can win this fall.
