Before Kamala Harris was elected as the first Black female Vice President of the United States….she was elected as a prosecutor, Attorney General, and U.S. Senator.

The Republican Party pretends she is somehow uncredentialed or unqualified while casting their vote for a VP candidate who served 1.5 years in the Senate — and that’s it.

As the first Black female lawyer to represent my home district of TX-30 — I know the challenges that come with being a first. I also know when someone uses the term ‘DEI hire,’ it usually means they just can’t measure up to the task at hand.
