Hi John,

At Gradient Learning’s Summer Training earlier this month, our co-founder and co-CEO, Priscilla Chan, and award-winning artist, actor, author, and activist, Common, joined 1,300 educators and school leaders to discuss the importance of taking a whole child approach to education. During the conversation, Priscilla stressed how educators' voices are critical to building effective education solutions. That’s why I am excited about Render - our education technology innovation studio at the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI). With Render, designers, engineers, and researchers collaborate directly with teachers and school leaders to develop impactful tools for K-12.

Our co-building approach recognizes that educators hold first-hand insights and ideas that can help solve school challenges. Our approach is also grounded in what the science of learning and development tells us about the needs of the whole child and how kids learn best.

Gradient Learning launched its Whole Student System ([link removed] ) . The Whole Student System brings together externally validated curricula, the latest best-in-class resources, and tools, including new dashboards to track student development — all paired with a dedicated coach who will help school leaders and teachers apply the program’s components in their unique school context.

Learn more ([link removed] ) about Reach Every Reader (RER) and how one of its programs is improving student academic outcomes in North Carolina schools. RER is a collaboration between neuroscience and education research teams at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, MIT’s Integrated Learning Initiative, and Florida State University, working to address the crisis in early literacy. Since its launch, RER has reached more than 58,000 children, 28,000 educators, and 7,000 parent caregivers in 47 states.
