Yesterday was World Whistleblower Day. I likely don't have to tell you that 2024 has been a particularly notable year for whistleblowers, and our party remains a key voice for protecting these brave individuals who stand up for the truth at great personal risk.

The Green Party has always supported the moral imperative of exposing corporate or governmental criminal activity. Protections for whistleblowers have been part of our platform for the last 2 decades.

Support for whistleblowers has been a key promise of Green candidates as well. During the 2016 election cycle Jill Stein pledged to grant Edward Snowden a full pardon and appoint him to her cabinet if elected. It is imperative that the citizens of the United States know what our government and our military are doing in our name, and we have an obligation to hold them accountable.

The country’s attention was riveted by the years of unlawful imprisonment suffered by Julian Assange. Greens around the world celebrated the plea deal finally reached with the U.S. government that will finally allow Julian to return home. In a recent interview, the presumptive Green Party nominee offered Julian Assange a full pardon and a place in the cabinet if elected.

In recent news, two Boeing whistleblowers have been found dead and a third one has testified to congress that he fears for his life. Again, Green Party candidates have been calling out these dangerous war profiteering corporations and those in the parties of War and Wall Street who enable them.

Corporate greed is out of control, and it's only been getting worse since 2020. These corporations can contribute to political parties and they have been doing so at staggering rates. In contrast, the Green Party and our candidates reject all corporate donations. Our efforts across the country rely on donations from people like you and a network of thousands of volunteers across the country.
