John,
I’m joining an urgent Labor for Harris call that the AFL-CIO is hosting at 8 p.m. EDT tomorrow, and I’m inviting you to join me.
In the last few days, we’ve seen these calls pop up, everything from LGBTQ for Harris to Black Women for Harris. Last night’s White Dudes for Harris event raised more than $4 million. Now it’s our turn.
RSVP for tomorrow night’s Labor for Harris call at 8 p.m. EDT.
I’ll be joining AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler and other special guests to talk about how we will win in November.
Vice President Kamala Harris has a plan to take this country forward. She’s fighting for everyone to have opportunity. She is fighting for our freedoms: freedom for workers to live in dignity, freedom to join a union, freedom for women to make decisions about their own bodies, freedom to learn and read, freedom to live safe from gun violence, freedom to marry and the freedom to vote. The vice president has been a key partner in the most pro-union administration in history. When Joe Biden and Kamala Harris took office, the country was in chaos. They turned it around. They stabilized schools, saved pensions for hundreds of thousands of retired union workers and remade the economy. They invested in our country’s future—in our roads, our bridges, our ports, our electrical grid, our manufacturing sector and, yes, our schools—more than any administration in my lifetime. They passed the child tax credit, which cut child poverty in half. They got the Inflation Reduction Act, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal, and the CHIPS and Science Act, and they helped veterans sickened by burn pits.
Look, we’ve seen all over the place how Donald Trump and JD Vance have a weird obsession with controlling people. They want to regulate women’s bodies, but not corporations; they want to tell teachers what books to choose but think the president and Supreme Court should be virtually unaccountable; they want to define what is and is not a loving family, but don’t support laws to make sure families have healthcare and healthy meals.
The contrast between Kamala Harris’ commitment to freedom versus the Trump-Vance Project 2025 agenda couldn’t be more clear.
Let’s show them we’re ready to organize.
In unity,
Randi Weingarten
AFT President
