With all the shake-ups at the top of the presidential ticket, you're probably getting a lot of emails about how now is the time to donate to Democratic leadership. 

Listen, I’ll be honest with you – yes, many candidates are trying to capitalize on Kamala Harris’s shift to the top of the ticket. 

And the truth is  - our fight against extremism and for progressive values is tied to which presidential administration makes it easier to do the community and mutual aid we need to enact in our district.

But here's the thing: those donations don't mean much if we continue to elect Democrats across federal leadership who mirror Republicans and are beholden to the same corporate donors.

These same corporate donors fund both MAGA Republicans and Democratic candidates like my opponent, Jimmy Gomez. 

This is a systemic problem that undermines our democracy and perpetuates the status quo. We need to break this cycle.

Contribute today to fuel a campaign dedicated to breaking the cycle of corporate ownership. We are a community-backed movement that has proved time and time again that we will always show up for our district because we always have. 

So yes, this is another fundraising email asking you to contribute by midnight tomorrow. 

But I'm asking for a different reason. 

We need to start electing a different kind of Democrat – one that comes from the grassroots, unbought, and deeply rooted in the community.

People, not corporations, power our campaign. We rely on small-dollar donations from supporters like you to stay independent and focused on the issues that matter most to our community. 

We are fighting for affordable housing, healthcare for all, quality education, and real justice reform.

The truth is that Jimmy Gomez’s corporate donors don’t want to see any of these advancements for working people - they just want to see profit – and we know that always comes at the expense of communities like ours.

Your contribution today will help us reach our end-of-month goal and ensure we have the resources to continue our grassroots movement. It will support a campaign dedicated to transparency, accountability, and genuine representation.
