Donald Trump’s rhetoric is dangerous. I have been sounding that alarm since his first campaign. And it will only be magnified by the Republican National Convention and his legions of online MAGA supporters.

He resents truth-tellers. Public servants. And anyone who dares to hold him to account.

He admires autocrats in other countries and has repeatedly broken the democratic guardrails we have in place so no president can abuse their office.

That is why he loathes me — because I investigated him, led his impeachment trial, and investigated his abuses of power on the January 6 Committee. And no matter how he tries to threaten or intimidate me, I will never back down.
