John –

The presidential race has understandably received a lot of attention over the past few weeks. It has my attention as well.

But I am writing to ask you to return your focus to the Senate today.

Because if Kamala Harris wins, she won't be able to get anything meaningful done without a Democratic Senate.

And if Trump wins, we will need a Democratic Senate to stop his worst impulses.

Both outcomes run through Michigan and this race. That’s why we were the only race moved from “Lean Democrat” to “Toss Up” following the debate last month. Republicans know that too. It's why they are pouring extraordinary sums of money into the state to defeat us.

Such a large amount of the money we raise comes in response to emails like this one, so I am asking you not to lose sight of this race and its importance. With Republicans about to decide their nominee in the August 6th primary, I really need your help today:

Can I count on you to split $25 between Dick Durbin and my campaign for U.S. Senate in Michigan? I will put your donation right to work holding this Senate seat for Democrats in November. [[link removed]]

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately and be split between Elissa Slotkin and Dick Durbin:

Thank you,

Elissa Slotkin
