Yesterday, President Biden AND Vice President Kamala Harris called for
substantive reform at the Supreme Court, including term limits for justices.
The Biden/Harris endorsement of term limits — a commonsense idea that Public
Citizen has long championed — gets us much closer to winning this desperately
needed reform.
But it’s up to Congress to pass the necessary legislation. (And yes, Supreme
Court term limits can be implemented in a way that does not violate the
Constitution or require a constitutional amendment.)
There is so much at stake with the Supreme Court — members of Congress need to
hear from the American people again and again until they get this done.
So please take action today even if you might have taken action before.

The United States is the world’s only major constitutional democracy that allows
lifetime tenure for judges on its highest court. We call on you to pass
legislation without delay that will take the commonsense step of instituting
term limits for Supreme Court justices.
