Hello,
I wanted to send a quick note to update you on what Congress is doing to provide relief to families and small businesses during these uncertain times.
Yesterday I voted for a fourth relief package to increase funding and expand access to loans for small businesses. Once this bill is signed into law, the funds will get to the people who need it most while helping revive our Main Street economy.
My Democratic colleagues and I also fought for critical funding for hospitals, health-care providers, and a new coronavirus testing program while we work to shape and pass additional comprehensive legislation. This includes $17 million for COVID-19 testing in New Hampshire, which will be crucial to help us beat this virus and get New Hampshire back on its feet and back to work. There's still much more to be done, but Democrats have made this legislative process better by staying at the negotiating table and focusing on our values.
As a small business owner myself, I know that we can’t allow partisan politics to divide us at this moment or prevent us from forging meaningful compromise. That's why we are measuring every economic proposal on how it will help people on factory floors, at family farms, and in mom and pop shops — not on what it does in the boardroom.
Thank you,
Chris
