Hi John,
Imagine the shock of receiving a knock on your door that would change your
life forever.
That’s what Christi Berrong-Barber experienced when she learned her son,
Chance, had overdosed on heroin and gone into cardiac arrest.
"I just knew," she said, "that our life would be different from now on."
But instead of breaking under the weight of this crisis, Christi transformed
into a fierce advocate for drug law reform. With the rate of drug overdose
deaths in the United States nearly quadrupling over two decades, her mission
became more critical than ever.
Guided by Americans for Prosperity (AFP), Christi navigated the complex world
of policymaking, helping to decriminalize fentanyl test strips and achieve
other significant victories.
