John, we're going to talk some trash (well, actually recycling)

John, this is Ted Terry, Super District 6 Commissioner and I want to share with you some of the reforms I put in place through the DeKalb Environmental Justice Commission.

Improving our recycling processes and composting services are some recent actions I’ve taken that will benefit our long-term climate goals for the county.

Before I go into more detail about these plans, can you donate today before our End of Month Fundraising Deadline so that we can build on the progress we have made in making a greener future for DeKalb County?

With these new actions, we are making composting simpler for residents and free of charge. By designating specific locations for compost pickup and simplifying the composting process, we are reducing environmental waste and harm.

In an article from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, we highlight the sanitation department’s new plan to stop commingling, which includes regular checks in the process and the addition of six ❗ more recycling trucks. These changes have led to DeKalb more than tripling our recycling collection, the highest since before COVID!

These are just a sample of our policies for the DeKalb County Green New Deal.

With over 20 climate resolutions and actions passed, and over 600 community members committed to the project, the DeKalb Green New Deal is delivering on its promise to address the climate crisis with community-focused solutions.

We’re committed to clean and efficient energy, preserving our natural resources, and prioritizing environmental justice in everything we do. But we can only build this future together. Can you chip before our End of Month Fundraising Deadline so we can champion our movement for DeKalb's future?

Thank you,

Ted Terry
