I’ve gotta say this, folks — if cow chipping was an Olympic sport, I might just bring home the gold.
Okay, I doubt the Olympic committee will pick this one up, but moments in the community like this one are the ones I cherish the most.
This past week our team stopped by the Sweetcorn Festival in Chatham and I was able to talk directly with the folks I represent about the issues that are at the top of their list, grab some great local food grown by our farmers, and of course, toss a few cow chips.
Events like this remind me of exactly who and what I’m fighting for — the farmers who help to put food on our tables and keep this nation running. I’m fighting for the parents working hard to give their kids a better life. And I’m fighting for folks like you who want to protect our democracy from extreme politicians working to corrupt it.
This is the most important election of our lifetimes, and we need all hands on deck to protect this frontline seat. Wealthy, right-wing groups like the NRCC have set me in their sights and will spend BIG in order to flip frontline seats like this one red.
So please, if you have room to spare in your budget this week, can I personally count on your grassroots contribution so that our team is able to talk to even more folks across Central and Southern Illinois over the next fourteen weeks?
