John, it’s
official: we have only one week left to save Rep. Cori Bush’s seat in
Congress from a phony Democratic challenger taking millions from AIPAC and
other far-right megadonor groups.
[ [link removed] ]Can you rush $5 between Cori’s campaign and Justice
Democrats right NOW to help keep our ads on the air and get out the vote
in this final week before the primary?
At this point, our opponents have spent more than $12 million across
Missouri’s 1st district attacking Cori with lies and making her opponent
out to be something he’s not: a progressive champion for the people of St.
Louis.
Wesley Bell claims he’s a Ferguson activist, but the truth is, he’s the
prosecutor who made broken promises to Michael Brown’s family and the
community of Ferguson to climb the political ladder and then failed to
hold Darren Wilson accountable or create real reform.
[ [link removed] ]Tweet from Heather Lindsy: The audacity of Wesley Bell claiming he was
a Ferguson activist in his ads while running to unseat OUR Ferguson
activist is just beyond! The BIG money behind his campaign keeps me
donating $3, $15, $30 small amts when I can so the exchange commission
reports show PEOPLE not PACs
But Cori? Cori is the real deal. A nurse, pastor, and community activist,
Cori has the experience in both the St. Louis community and in Congress to
back up the fact that she’s a true champion for working people, criminal
justice reform, and human rights. As Bernie Sanders put it:
“She has lived the struggles regular, everyday people endure and her
mission since being elected is to do the very most for her community —
starting with those who have the very least.”
As we approach the 10th anniversary of Michael Brown’s death at the hands
of police, Cori has released her final ad of this campaign to give
Michael’s family a platform and set the record straight on Bell’s broken
promises. The powerful ad is making waves, as noted by Politico:
[ [link removed] ]Politico: MO-01 — Democratic Rep. Cori Bush features the father and
sister of Michael Brown, who was killed by a police officer in 2014. “I
feel like he lied to us,” Mike Brown Sr. said of Bush’s primary opponent
Wesley Bell, the St. Louis county prosecutor. “He used my family for
power, and now he’s trying to sell out St. Louis,” he added. … Justice
Democrats, the progressive group backing Bush, pushes back against
“Republican lies” attacking Bush. … United Democracy Project, the American
Israel Public Affairs Commitee’s super PAC, says that Bush “has her own
agenda” as “Democrats need to stick together to get things done” in a
closely divided Congress.
If we want to achieve justice and progress for all, we can’t let a liar
and hypocrite like Bell replace one of our fiercest progressive voices in
Congress.
Cori is being dramatically outspent by Republican millionaires and
corporate special interests who want to see Bell defeat her, so we’re
coming to you in this final week of the primary to ask for your
much-needed grassroots support.

our efforts to get out the vote for Cori before MO-01 voters cast their
ballots next Tuesday.
