PASS THE SAVE ACT. SECURE THE BORDER. | Dear friend, Last week, I went to San Diego, CA, to meet with U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents and tour the checkpoints and processing facilities at the San Diego sector of the southwest border. Despite the Biden-Harris Administration's claims that their June executive order has slowed illegal crossings, the border agents we spoke with told a completely different story. | Jon Anifsen, Executive Vice President of the National Border Patrol Council, summarized it plainly: "The men and the women of the Border Patrol continue to be in this precarious position. They're stuck between their desire to do the job that they were trained to do and the White House's policies that prevent them from doing that job." By handicapping our law enforcement agencies' ability to fight illegal immigration, the Biden-Harris Administration has allowed in millions of aliens, more than 10 million since they took office. This invasion threatens our sovereignty, but because of loopholes in state and federal law, it also threatens the integrity of our elections. | To prevent the practice of noncitizens and illegal aliens voting in U.S. elections, the House passed the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, legislation that would close the loopholes that allow noncitizen registration and voting, enhance election security, minimize the risk of foreign interference and restore Americans’ confidence in U.S. elections. This legislation should have been overwhelmingly bipartisan. Instead, when we voted on the legislation earlier this month, 198 House Democrats voted to allow illegal aliens to help decide U.S. elections. I defended this legislation on the House floor, and you can watch that speech here. We have long known that the border crisis was always an intentional effort to create new voters, and now the American people know where every member of Congress stands on this critically important issue.
