Even the "moderates" on the Harris short-list are bought and paid for by Big Green, Inc.

American Spectator (7/28/24) reports: "When Josh Shapiro ran for governor of Pennsylvania against a weak Republican candidate in 2022, he postured as a moderate Democrat willing to embrace school choice and mollify critics of energy tax schemes.  Polls show Shapiro remains reasonably popular in the state despite his lack of any tangible legislative accomplishments. That alone could suffice for Vice President Kamala Harris to select Shapiro as her running mate...One reason the unions may not be receiving any return on the investment they made into Shapiro is because the Democratic Party has become beholden to left-leaning environmental activists that support RGGI. These include the Natural Resources Defense Council, the Sierra Club, and the Conservation Voters of Pennsylvania, which have all contributed to Shapiro...House Republicans have opened an investigation into an entity that calls itself the Energy Foundation China, a former affiliate of the Energy Foundation, a left-leaning grant operation. Although both organizations list San Francisco as their headquarters, a Fox News investigation concluded that the 'majority' of the operations for the Energy Foundation China take place in China and that the foundation’s staff is closely tied in with the Communist Party of China (CCP). For its part, the Energy Foundation has pumped hundreds of thousands of dollars in grants to groups in Pennsylvania that actively oppose oil and gas production throughout the United States. Big Green Inc., a project of the Institute for Energy Research, a free market group in Washington, D.C., carefully tracks these grants. The NRDC is among the top recipients of Energy Foundation grants. Although the group has denied receiving money from China, NRDC has maintained close relationships with Chinese officials and the CCP, according to Influence Watch. Since Pennsylvania is No. 2 only to Texas in terms of natural gas production, there are geopolitical implications attached to Shapiro’s anti-energy plans. By working to impose costly new regulations on Pennsylvania, Shapiro — Trump could argue — is doing the bidding of Beijing either knowingly or unknowingly."

"Altogether, irresponsible reporting deliberately sensationalizing the weather is not a reason for consternation or concern. People should enjoy their summer and not worry about the sky falling down, because it won’t. "

It's time to put energy champions in charge of America's public lands.

Daily Caller (7/29/24) reports: "Former President Donald Trump has promised to revitalize and unleash the American energy sector if he returns to the White House in 2025, and has a plethora of former officials and new faces he could tap for key executive branch roles. The Biden administration has utilized executive agencies like the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Department of the Interior (DOI) and the Department of Energy (DOE) to implement many of the key policies driving its sprawling climate agenda. These agencies will be crucial to any effort by a prospective Trump administration to undo President Joe Biden’s energy legacy and execute Trump’s 'drill, baby, drill' agenda...Several insiders with extensive experience in Republican energy politics speculated to the Daily Caller News Foundation as to who Trump could pick to lead that charge if he wins in November...In light of Trump’s calls to 'drill, baby, drill,' the DOI’s approach to natural resource management is likely to change dramatically from its current attitude as part of the Biden administration. Tom Pyle, president of the American Energy Alliance, told the DCNF to keep an eye on Republican Govs. Mike Dunleavy of Alaska and Doug Burgum of North Dakota as possible leaders of DOI under a prospective second Trump presidency. However, Burgum may be in play for other positions, such as secretary of the energy or perhaps a high-level White House role, Pyle told the DCNF."

The West Coast can't get their people to go along with their EV schemes and Team Harris wants to mandate them across the country.

It turns out flight requires an incredibly dense source of power. Luckily, Air NZ just found out about petroleum-based jet fuel.

BBC (7/30/24) reports: "Air New Zealand has abandoned a 2030 goal to cut its carbon emissions, blaming difficulties securing more efficient planes and sustainable jet fuel. The move makes it the first major carrier to back away from such a climate target. The airline added it is working on a new short-term target and it remains committed to an industry-wide goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2050. The aviation industry is estimated to produce around 2% of global carbon dioxide emissions, which airlines have been trying to reduce with measures including replacing older aircraft and using fuel from renewable sources. 'In recent months, and more so in the last few weeks, it has also become apparent that potential delays to our fleet renewal plan pose an additional risk to the target's achievability,' Air New Zealand Chief Executive Officer, Greg Foran, said in the statement. In 2022, Air New Zealand adopted a 2030 target to cut its emissions by almost 29%."
