Y'all, I'm gonna get straight to the point—independent clinics urgently need our help.

Did you know that 3 out of 5 patients who get abortions do so at independent clinics? During this pandemic the need for access to abortion care is increasing on a daily basis, but anti-abortion extremist politicians are exploiting the COVID-19 crisis to further restrict abortion access. Without immediate financial support, 92% of independent abortion clinics may not be able to continue providing care. The average indie clinic will need $50,000 per month moving forward, or else their doors may close permanently.

Here at Abortion Access Front, we've been spending our quarantine figuring out how we can best support abortion providers, and today — along with our partners at Abortion Care Network and Shout Your Abortion — we are so excited to announce Operation Save Abortion, an all-day, all-star Instagram fundraiser to help independent abortion clinics continue to provide care!

On Thursday, April 30th, from 10am to 10pm ET, I'll be co-hosting Operation Save Abortion on Abortion Access Front's Instagram Live (IG: @AbortionFront) along with Shout Your Abortion cofounder Amelia Bonow!

From the confines of their quarantines, celebs like Elizabeth Banks and Sandra Bernhard, comedians Nikki Glaser and Jenny Slate, and musicians Amanda Palmer (Dresden Dolls) and Kristin Hersh will be coming together with dozens of amazing performers to rally their fans and followers to help independent abortion providers keep their doors open. Through performance, storytelling, interviews, and auctioning off handmade crafts and experiences, these passionate artists will be raising urgent funds to help keep these essential clinics running so patients can continue to receive the care they need during the pandemic, and beyond.

100% of the proceeds will go directly to the Abortion Care Network's Keep Our Clinics relief fund that will distribute donations to these vulnerable clinics so that patients can get the care they need during the pandemic and long after.
