Dear Friend --
We are in the midst of two crises right now – coronavirus and the climate crisis. The planet needs you more than ever. Once we move past this pandemic and return to a sense of normalcy, we cannot go back to the destructive practices that are fueling the climate crisis. We cannot continue to treat the atmosphere as if it were an open sewer. We must build a movement to ensure that we live in harmony with nature.
That’s why I’m so excited to partner with youth activists in the US Climate Strike Coalition and with climate activists of all ages and backgrounds during this year’s Earth Day Live. They are building upon the foundation of passion, courage, and resilience Earth Day organizers and activists demonstrated fifty years ago.
We have a chance this year to create the largest movement around the Climate Crisis that we have ever seen. And I am dedicated to bring my lifelong work and expertise to this very important event.
So Friend, I hope that you could join me and countless others this today as we continue to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Earth Day.
