At CREW, we use aggressive legal actions, in-depth investigations, and innovative policy and reform work to achieve that vision.

If you’re not yet convinced, and need some more information about why donating to CREW, right here, right now, is so important, then here are five reasons why to donate, and make your donation go three times as far:

  1. We’re working to hold insurrectionists accountable – and that includes Donald Trump. In 2022, we went to court to remove an insurrectionist named Couy Griffin from office in New Mexico — the first time in more than 150 years the 14th Amendment’s Disqualification Clause was enforced in court. We even took Donald Trump to the U.S. Supreme Court in an attempt to have him removed from the ballot under the 14th Amendment. Today, we’re continuing our work to make sure insurrectionists are held accountable for the violent attack on our Capitol and our democracy.
  2. We’re fighting for reform of the U.S. Supreme Court—and calling on Justices Thomas and Alito to resign. When ProPublica published a damning report, revealing that Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas and his wife accepted luxury vacations for 20 years from billionaire mega-donor Harlan Crow, we called on him to resign. When news broke that Justice Alito was flying flags associated with January 6th and the “Stop the Steal” movement, then refused to recuse himself from cases directly related to the insurrection, we called on him to resign. A respected and unassailable Supreme Court is absolutely essential and we’ll continue fighting for reform of our courts to restore credibility and public trust to the judicial system.
  3. We’re uncovering and exposing corrupt politicians – and holding them accountable to the law. We called on Senator Bob Menendez to resign when he was convicted for being an unregistered agent for Egypt and using his office to profit. We filed a complaint against Representative Andrew Clyde when it appeared he had violated House ethics rules by introducing, sponsoring and advocating for legislation that would benefit his firearms company. We will continue to expose wrongdoing wherever we find it, especially at the highest levels of our government.
  4. We’re taking on big corporations and election deniers. More than 1,700 companies have made contributions to congressional election deniers and insurrection enablers. The threat posed to democracy that was so apparent on January 6th, 2021 has not gone away. These members of Congress known as the sedition caucus have continued to push election lies and are eroding our democracy, and these companies are complicit in their effort. We need to stand up to them, and hold them accountable.
  5. We’re fighting for real, meaningful reforms that make our government more transparent, ethical and open. We testified to Congress, advocating for judicial ethics reform which the White House has now endorsed. We’ve fought for a congressional stock trading ban, which is now closer than ever to passage. We’ve supported legislation that would restore the Voting Rights Act. We believe that we need monumental democracy reform, and we’re not going to forget about it or stop fighting for it until it becomes a reality.

Team, if I’ve convinced you that CREW’s work matters, then we need your support today.

Can you pitch in $5 — or any amount that works for you — and help us hit our match goal? Whatever you donate today will be matched 3X, tripling your impact! →
