Last night, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer announced a Thursday Senate vote on the tax package that includes the Child Tax Credit (CTC). We need your help to get it over the finish line.

H.R. 7024, the Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act, marks a significant CTC expansion tailored to support families. This initiative is projected to benefit nearly 16 million under-resourced children, potentially lifting 400,000 out of poverty within the first year alone and sparking economic mobility in Black and Brown communities nationwide. Yet H.R. 7024 stalled in the Senate, despite passing the House with a vote of 350-70 on January 31.  

We urge you to join forces with CDF and a diverse coalition of organizations in encouraging the Senate to pass this crucial legislation on Thursday. 

CDF honors the promise that every young person will launch from a permanent, nurturing home and fulfill the dream of doing better than the generation before. Expanding the CTC represents a significant step toward realizing this promise. Join us to ensure this opportunity for a brighter future is extended to the children and youth under our care.
