View as Webpage ‌ ‌ ‌ Additional Funding Approved to Restart Paycheck Protection Program Last night, Congress passed an additional $310 billion in funding to restart the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). The PPP was created as part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act to help businesses cover payroll and other expenses while they’re affected by COVID-19. Congress also approved $50 billion in new funding for the Small Business Administration’s Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) program. For more information on the PPP loan program, the Chamber’s coronavirus resources page includes resources by the U.S. Senate Committee on Small Business & Entrepreneurship, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and the U.S. Department of the Treasury. The Chamber compiled a list of Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) lenders in the Chamber membership.
