Dear John,
Please join us for a very special evening next Tuesday (6th of August), where we’ll catch up with author and journalist Will Hutton for a crucial post-election discussion about the new government and our democracy.
In 1995, Will Hutton wrote The State We’re In: Why Britain Is in Crisis and How to Overcome It, a ground-breaking and highly influential look at what was wrong with Britain and what policies were needed. The country is now in a far worse state than it was then, and Hutton has recently published a new book, This Time No Mistakes: How to Remake Britain.
Along with the 99% Organisation and Take Back Britain, we’ve created a new event series to discuss the state of British democracy and the urgent need for meaningful fact-based policies and reforms.
Next Tuesday, the second event in the series will look at Labour’s platform as laid out in the King’s speech. In addition to an in-depth discussion about the challenges and opportunities presented by the new government, there will be ample opportunity for attendees to ask questions and get involved.
It’s completely free of charge, but do RSVP using the button below so we can get a head count. We’ll send around a zoom link closer to the day.
Hoping to see you there on Tuesday!
