‘Do Something BIG’ Campaign – Advertising Vacancies on Find A Job
The Do Something BIG recruitment campaign is ramping up again in early August, promoting early years and childcare careers on a national-scale across multiple advertising channels. It highlights the huge difference early years professionals make to young children and how rewarding working in the sector can be. The campaign directs potential applicants to use DWP’s Find a Job vacancy platform to search for early years roles in their area. With a big push over the summer, we would encourage providers to list any vacancies they have on the Find a Job Platform, using the term ‘early years’ in the title of the job adverts and selecting ‘Education Jobs’ for the job category. This service is free to use and will ensure vacancies are seen by a large pool of potential candidates. More information on this, including instructions on how to list vacancies, can be found at https://www.nottinghamcity.gov.uk/earlyyears/section-pages/looking-after-your-childcare-business/being-an-employer/dfe-do-something-big-recruitment-campaign/

The Holiday Activities webpage with the summer offer for children and families has been updated. There are currently 160 activities listed and more are provided by different organisations through a link on the webpage.
The Story Choices project, funded by the Education Endowment Foundation is looking to recruit early years settings across the East Midlands to take part.
The project is about the best way to arrange storybook reading sessions to help develop language in preschool. This is a great opportunity, as it is the first ‘Teacher Choices’ trial aimed at early years. Teacher choices trials move away from the traditional EEF approach of introducing a full intervention package, and instead look at the impact of relatively small, simple changes within the daily routine.
