This weekly digest is a method to communicate updates, initiatives and policy changes from the Aging and Adult Services Division (AASD) and Disability Services Division (DSD) in a simplified way. We send this announcement every week on Tuesdays.

Legislative changes to PTO for CDCS and CSG workers [ [link removed] ]

* *Audience:* Financial management services (FMS) providers and people who receive CDCS and CSG services
* *Effective date:* May 25, 2024
* *Summary:* As of May 25, 2024, CDCS and CSG workers can waive their right to PTO under the collective bargaining agreement when they provide services to their family members who receive CDCS or CSG services.

 

Policy change to allow MHM TC with AMH-TCM, CMH-TCM, VA/DD-TCM, BHH and ACT [ [link removed] ]

* *Audience:* MHM transition coordinators and lead agency staff who work with MHM
* *Effective date:* Aug. 1, 2024
* *Summary:* Effective Aug. 1, 2024, a person may receive MHM TC services with AMH-TCM, CMH-TCM, VA/DD-TCM, BHH or ACT services.

 

Assisted living verification code requirement ends Aug. 1 [ [link removed] ]

* *Audience:* Lead agencies and providers
* *Effective date:* Aug. 1, 2024
* *Summary:* Effective Aug. 1, 2024, people considering moving into an assisted living facility will no longer need to get a verification code from the Senior LinkAge Line before signing a lease.

 

EVV survey [ [link removed] ]

* *Audience:* Providers of in-scope service for EVV that provide personal care services, including some waiver services, home health services, people who receive services, caregivers and other interested parties
* *Survey deadline:* Aug. 30, 2024
* *Summary:* DHS seeks feedback from people impacted by EVV through a survey.

 

EVV compliance reminder [ [link removed] ]

* *Audience:* Providers of in-scope service for EVV that provide personal care services, including some waiver services, home health services and other interested parties
* *Effective date:* Sept. 1, 2024
* *Summary:* Effective Sept. 1, 2024, DHS will begin to enforce EVV compliance for all providers, regardless of payer, including FMS providers and managed care organizations (MCOs).

 

Spouses and parents of minors can be paid to provide PCA services [ [link removed] ]

* *Audience:* People who receive PCA services and their families, providers, lead agencies and other interested parties
* *Effective date:* Oct. 1, 2024
* *Summary:* Effective Oct. 1, 2024, a person may serve as a paid worker to provide PCA services for their spouse or minor children.

* *Summary:* The Minnesota Legislature made updates during the 2024 legislative session that impact EIDBI providers.





Training and event information

Webinar announcement: DWRS Cost Reporting Demo and Q&A – Residential and Unit-based Service Providers [ [link removed] ]

* *Audience:* Cost report preparers for non-family residential and unit-based service providers who provide disability waiver services
* *Event date:* Aug. 6, 2024
* *Summary:* The DWRS Cost Reporting Team will host a demonstration and question and answer (Q&A) session about cost reporting for residential and unit-based service providers on Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2024, from 10 a.m. to noon.

 

*EVV provider onboarding session [ [link removed] ]*

* *Audience:* Providers of in-scope service for EVV that provide personal care services, including some waiver services, home health services and other interested parties
* *Event date:* Aug. 7, 2024
* *Summary:* DHS and HHAeXchange (HHAX) will host an EVV onboarding session for providers on Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2024.

 

Reminder: Save the date for the annual Minnesota Gathering in November 2024 [ [link removed] ]

* *Audience:* People who receive services, providers, lead agencies, tribal nations and other interested parties
* *Event dates:* Nov. 12 and Nov. 14, 2024
* *Summary:* The annual Minnesota Gathering for Person-Centered Practices is Tuesday, Nov. 12 and Thursday, Nov. 14, 2024. Registration opens on Aug. 28, 2024.

 

CFSS online trainings available [ [link removed] ]

* *Audience:* People who receive PCA and CSG services and their families, providers, lead agencies and other interested parties
* *Summary:* DHS has CFSS trainings for people who receive services, their families, PCA and CSG workers, provider agencies, lead agencies, consultation services providers, FMS providers and other interested parties.
